Boy George was born George Alan O’Dowd, and he was the frontman for Culture Club, one of the largest music groups of the 1980s. George stuck out as a London club kid noted for his quirky style and crazy attitudes until he was spotted by the Sex Pistol’s boss Malcolm McLaren. Boy George’s distinctive appearance helped sell millions of copies of songs like “Karma Chameleon,” “Time (Clock of the Heart),” and “Do You Just Want to Hurt Me.” His vivid androgynous style of clothing and appearance made him instantly identifiable to millions of fans all over the world.

Unfortunately for Boy George, life did not go smoothly after the band broke up for a long time. Culture Club’s demise was caused by a sexual partnership between George and Jon Moss, the band’s guitarist, drug use, and the unfortunate death of their keyboard player due to an overdose, as he subsequently disclosed in interviews. As a result of imprisoning and then sexually raping a rent child, he received a lengthy jail term. Boy George has completed his sentence and is now attempting a comeback. He writes novels, crafts clothing, is a photographer and continues to compose music. His most recent artistic work has earned praise for its sincerity and modesty.
