Although not the central character in the film, Steven Griffith’s Tex garners a fleeting moment of attention when Forrest recounts his comrades during the Vietnam era. An amusing twist ensues as one soldier named Dallas hails from Phoenix, while another named Cleveland hails from Detroit. Curiously, Forrest’s memory fails him in determining Tex’s origin. Eventually, Forrest heroically rescues Tex amidst the turmoil of battle.

Admittedly, Steven Griffith’s acting career has been rather humble following his portrayal of Tex. In the past 25+ years, he has only amassed four additional acting credits. Notable recognition came from his involvement in the show Break a Hip. Interestingly, Griffith was allegedly removed from an episode of Desperate Housewives due to his towering height. Since 2012, Griffith has transitioned from acting to pursuing a full-time writing career.
