We don’t understand how a person could form an emotional connection with a fly, but we also generally avoid passing judgment. Harry may have struck up a friendship with the person searching for him because he was an especially kind fly. Or perhaps they were simply bored and decided it would be amusing to find a fly that had once captured their attention. When you have nothing else to do, you’ll do anything.
