Whale fishers were shown in the film Blackfish stealing newborn whales from the ocean and selling them for profit to Sea World and other entertainment parks. Sheila’s experience is terrible, but that’s nothing out of the ordinary. The vast majority of species suffer as a result of animal mistreatment for amusement, resulting in a brief and unpleasant existence. Sheila’s rescuers are hopeful that she won’t experience the same obstacles as her captors did.

The US Department of Agriculture has chosen to send her to an animal welfare organization called In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Education Center. Sheila had become ill and was in a bad way. It’s a non-profit that aids in the rehabilitation and healing of trapped animals. It was an awful day for everyone.
